The Belfast School of Performing Arts (BSPA) is Northern Ireland’s leading theatre school for young people aged 3-18 years and strives to deliver the highest level of training possible to every individual student.
As well as providing an exceptionally high standard of theatre tuition, we endeavour to offer our students many unforgettable experiences. We have unique contacts with West End and Broadway performers, TV and theatre casting agencies (including our own in-house casting agency) and theatre professionals. Through these opportunities, our students gain valuable experience and learn more about performance, creativity and communication.
Under the guidance of our Artistic Director, Peter Corry MBE, we focus on helping our students grow in confidence so they can excel within the performing arts world while developing important social skills along the way. There is a strong emphasis on fun while we learn, and we pride ourselves on creating a positive, creative and welcoming environment where students develop friendships for life.
Whether your child dreams of performing on stage, appearing on screen, or simply wants to build confidence and make new friends, BSPA Newtownards offers performing arts classes for children and young people aged 3-18 in a supportive environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential.

All BSPA Schools run in the same way and in the Autumn term are based on a well planned professional curriculum aimed at providing the best tuition for our pupils. The schools are divided into 3 groups based on age but sometimes they do vary a little from school to school as we endeavour to ensure the groups are as equal in numbers as possible with a maximum of 20-25 in each group. The curriculum is aimed appropriately at each age group and is intended to be informative, to give children the skills they need to perform but above all to be fun
All schools start and end with a warm-up and cool down bringing all the school together and in term 2-3 work towards a professional school show in a Professional Theatre.
“BSPA has helped me to develop my passion for dancing, but also gave me the confidence to try new things I wouldn’t have before”
Success has many faces at the BSPA. See how the BSPA has helped children and young adults achieve more than just an ability to perform.
