Ayesha Akkari

Ayesha is a versatile musician and educator who has worked and studied in England and recently returned home to Northern Ireland. 

Ayesha studied her undergraduate in Music at the University of Bristol as a principal study vocalist before moving to Cambridge to study her PGCE in Secondary Music Education at Jesus College. During her time in Cambridge she was a choral scholar, received a scholarship for jazz voice and was awarded the Charles Fox Prize at graduation for outstanding contributions to all aspects of her degree. She then went on to teach in London, quickly becoming Head of Music followed by Head of Performing Arts in central London. During this time, Ayesha completed an MA in Music Education at UCL with a scholarship from Universal Sounds for her research in Music and wellbeing. 

Ayesha has trained in jazz, classical and musical theatre and is a multi-instrumentalist. She enjoys teaching and performing alongside her role in a children’s charity focussing on work with children who have lived experience of special educational needs and disabilities, and those with experience of social care. 

Ayesha is trauma informed, patient and experienced with working with a vast range of young people and can’t wait to start at BSPA.
