Victoria Scates

Victoria Scates

Victoria has worked at Killard House School for the past 14 years as a Classroom Assistant, and has developed extensive experience supporting pupils in their learning and development. Over the last two years, she has taken on the role of Pupil Welfare Assistant and First Aid Co-Ordinator where she has continued to demonstrate her commitment to ensuring pupils feel supported, valued, nurtured and looked after while hurt or ill during the school day.

Before moving into education, Victoria enjoyed a successful career as a Kitchen Designer based in Dublin then Belfast.  This background allowed her to develop strong organisational, creative, and interpersonal skills, all of which continue to benefit her work within BSPA.

Victoria has also been closely involved with the BSPA community through her family. As the wife of Lloyd Scates, who teaches music at Bangor AM and Hollywood Road BSPA Schools, she has been a valued helper within BSPA for a number of years. Her daughter, Niamh, has taught dance at BSPA Schools throughout this year and has recently secured a place at ballet school in London, where she will begin her studies this August.

With her Saturdays now free, Victoria is looking forward to welcoming all pupils and families to the newest BSPA school in September and to helping create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can succeed and feel at home.
