The Programme

Starting this October, and running on Thursday evenings, The Performance Academy is a great opportunity for young adults who want to dive deeper into the three main disciplines of Musical Theatre.

What’s covered

Whether considering auditioning for drama school, going into the business or exploring a passion, there is something for all within this concentrated evening course:

  • Vocal techniques
  • Dance classes
  • Acting technique classes
  • How to integrate different disciplines
  • Song and monologue preparation
  • Audition technique
  • Voice production
  • Movement
  • Scene studies
  • Physicality

The course will be led by some of the best industry professionals in Northern Ireland.

  • Peter Corry – Course Director
  • Adam Darcy – Music Coach
  • Emily McDonagh – Dance Coach
  • Nik Parks – Acting Coach

The course starts on Thursday 5th October  and this year we are delighted to be offering students the ability to do a Trinity Level 4 Diploma or Trinity Grades.

As well as a qualification, this course will broaden students’ knowledge of the Musical Theatre genre, prepare them for exams and any potential drama school auditions and be a great opportunity to create, take ownership of their work and have a dedicated focus.

We will be aiming for Feb/March for the exam so we are finished before any students studying for GCSEs, AS, A-Levels or college exams go off on study leave.

These classes are specifically aimed at those between the ages of 16yrs and 24yrs.
