Shonagh Lyons

Shonagh studied both at Birmingham City University and University of Ulster Magee, where she specialised in classical vocal studies and performance.

With a Masters Degree in music and a Diploma in Music Theatre under her belt, Shonagh is also a passionate and enthusiastic vocal tutor at Ballymena school of music and Causeway school of music in Coleraine.

She loves getting creative when it comes to stage presence and choreography, especially when it comes to music theatre productions and exams!

Having performance experience in both opera and musical theatre productions, Shonagh played the role of Emma Carew in the 2013 Londonderry Music Society production of ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ and was awarded best female vocalist by the Association of Irish Musical Societies.

As an experienced stage performer and musician herself, Shonagh loves working with all genres of music and is always excited to teach and adapt her vocal techniques to whichever piece of music, a student may wish to sing!
