Growing up in a very musical family, music and performing have always been a huge part of Rebecca’s life. From the age of 8 to 21, she was classically trained on the violin, with her experiences playing in orchestras inspiring her love for musical direction and conducting.
Rebecca graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music. During her studies, she discovered a growing passion for singing, particularly through choral music, which became a creative outlet and a welcome contrast to the intensity of her classical violin training.
After graduating, Rebecca followed in her mum’s footsteps as a music teacher, something she never expected to do but quickly discovered was exactly where she belonged. For the past three years, she has worked in primary schools across Ballymena, as well as providing group and individual singing tuition, helping pupils build confidence, creativity and a genuine love of music.
One of the highlights of Rebecca’s work has been directing and producing shows, bringing together her passion for musical direction with the joy of creating meaningful experiences and lasting connections with pupils.
Rebecca is so excited to be joining BSPA Ballymena as Musical Director. Working alongside such a fantastic team and talented pupils feels like a dream for her, and she can’t wait to see what we all create together!
