Eimear Burns

Eimear (Mimi) grew up in Co. Down and started performing at a young age in local productions. Mimi went on to study Theatre and the Dramatic Arts at Trinity College Dublin and Goldsmiths University London before moving to Kuala Lumpur to teach IB and IGCSE Theatre.


Mimi then went on to live in Hong Kong for 7 years where she worked as a children’s theatre director, tutor and scriptwriter with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, Faust International Youth Theatre, Dramatic English and AFTEC Theatre.


Whilst in Hong Kong Eimear was signed as a voice artist for V-Tech toy company and worked as an actor in numerous productions. Credits include, The Last Five Years (Hong Kong Premier), The Crucible (winner- best supporting actress), Melodia (composed and MD’d by Cirque du Soleil composer of Alegria, Violaine Corradi) Fame (Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation,) and If Not Me, Who? (Produced by Tony-Awards winning producer Brian Zeilinger.)


Since moving on to Toronto for a couple of years Eimear is now settled back in Belfast and is passionate about utilizing her years of experience to inspire, encourage and nurture the individual talents of the young performers at BSPA.
