Step into the spotlight and discover the magic of screen acting in this exciting 3-day workshop!
Whether you have worked on a film or TV set before or have never even watched yourself back on a TikTok, this workshop provides an in-depth and detailed insight into the screen world.
Students will understand how to prepare their performance before filming, on-set terminology, how different shots require something different as actors and how to film a self-tape audition.
DAY 1 – PREPARE
How would you go about prepping a scene for screen?
Students will learn the basics of screen acting and how to best prepare as an actor for that first day on set; learning lines, preparing character, on-set terminology, how to take direction and work with a film crew.
DAY 2 – REHEARSE
Get ready to shoot!
Students will take what they learned on day one and apply it to rehearsing for their scene. They will learn shooting flow; working from a wide shot to a mid shot to close-ups and the importance of continuity for editing and post-production. They will also learn how to set-up shots and how to film their classmates scenes for day 3.
DAY 3 – SHOOT
‘Sound, Speed! Camera, Set! Rolling! And… ACTION!’
We’re ready to go for a take. Students will take everything they’ve learned so far and both film a scene as an actor and shoot a scene as a director. This is important as students learn what is required of them as actors from the director and other members of the crew to get that perfect shot!
