Musical Theatre Workshop
Date: 30 th October 2016
Venue: Methodist College Belfast

The first workshop of this school year was taken by the very talented West End star, Mikey Jay-Heath who is currently appearing in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Mickey is originally from N.Ireland and also appeared as Tom Thumb in Barnum and trained at The Urdang Academy. He had a fabulous day sharing his experience with our children in this dance based Musical Theatre Workshop.

The Addams Family
Date: 28/29th October 2016
Venue: Grand Opera House, Belfast

Two large groups of pupils and parents were delighted to support many of their teachers and pupil Emma Martin who played the part of Wednesday in Belfast Operatic Company’s production of “The Addams Family”. They also enjoyed meeting the cast on stage after the show.

Musical Theatre Masterclass
Date: 5th /6th March 2016
Venue: Grand Opera House Belfast

A select group of students benefited from the expertise of our Patron Anna O’Bryne and assisted by Andy Conaghan. Andrew Lloyd Weber has described Anna as one of the most outstanding Soprano’s in the world. She is described as the perfect Christine Daae in “Phantom of the Opera” and played Christine in the film adaptation “Love Never Dies”.

Broadway Workshop
Date: 19th February 2016
Venue: Ripley-Grier Studios – New York

During a BSPA trip to New York around 50 excited Pupils were thrilled to take part in a workshop with Broadway star Caitlin Abraham who taught them the iconic kickline choreography of the iconic “Stairway to Paradise” from “An American in Paris”. They also had the chance to work with Broadway MD Andrew Gerle. A huge thank you to Producer Sarabeth Grossman for all her support in organising the workshop.
