Alice is a qualified primary school teacher who graduated from Stranmillis University with a B.Ed in music. She has been responsible for choir training, ensemble and orchestral leadership and teaching drama. Using the Estill method she was vocally trained, and has achieved diplomas in Classical singing performance. Since joining Belfast Operatic in 2006 she has appeared on the Grand Opera House Stage in several principal roles including: Cupid (Orpheus in the Underworld), Minnie Fay (Hello Dolly), Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Calamity (Calamity Jane), Ghost of Christmas Past (A Christmas Carol), Cinderella in Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and most recently, Emma Carew In Jekyll and Hyde.
Alice is a member of the undercover singing group: Secret Serenaders who perform all over the country alongside performing in a vintage, 3-part harmony group – The Victory Rollers.
Out of the classroom, and off stage, Alice actively participates in children’s work within the Salvation Army, where she leads the children’s choir and assists with musical productions, dance and drama activities within the children’s church. Alice also sings in the church choir and plays flugel horn in the brass band having performed in many venues in the UK, as well as touring Sweden, as well as singing soprano in the church choir with whom she has sang in prestigious locations such as the Royal Albert Hall. She also leads the Ireland Divisional Youth chorus, made up of young music enthusiasts within the Salvation Army across Northern Ireland.
