Since graduating from the University of York with a BA Hons in Music, Ryan has established himself in the Belfast area as a musical director and actor with a wealth of varied performance experience. As well as roles such as “Franz Liebkind” in the NI Ireland premiere of The Producers directed by Peter Corry, he has also performed as the dame in four annual pantomimes with Mr. Hullabaloo’s Interactive Children’s Theatre.
As well as performing Ryan assistant directed and musically directed his own production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company and has been fortunate to work with NiStars as musical director for Little Shop of Horrors and The Wizard of Oz.
Since June 2016 he has been musical director for the newly formed East Side Community Choir and in December 2016 performed with them at the Stormont Christmas Light Ceremony.
Ryan is a co-founder of “Kandu Theatre,” an extroverted young company based in Belfast and has worked on all of their productions including The Thirty-Nine Steps, The Breakfast Club, Withnail & I and The Kandu Komedy Revue.
Ryan toured with Peter Corry on his Master of the Musicals tour in autumn 2016 and is delighted to say as of February 2017 he will be performing regularly with Björn Identity, one of Ireland’s premiere Abba tribute groups.
