We are delighted to welcome West End leading lady Louise Bowden who will be taking a
series for three tap workshops in the New year. Workshops may be booked separately but
we are offering a discount when all three are booked together
Louise began her dance training in ballet school at 4 years of age.
At the tender age of 9 she
began her career when she danced alongside famous ballet star Rudolf Nureyev and the
Cleveland San Jose Company in the romantic ballet “Coppelia” at what was then known as
the Point Theatre Dublin. That same year, after seeing a Billie Barry show at the Gaiety
Theatre, she joined the renowned school and went on to train under Ms Barry and Lorraine
for many years. As a BBK she performed in numerous Gaiety Pantomimes and productions
at the Olympia and the National Concert Hall.
Louise started her professional career touring the USA for several years as lead vocalist and
soloist with celtic show Jury’s Irish Cabaret, playing venues such as the MGM Grand in Las
Vegas and The John Hancock in Boston. With this she recorded her debut solo album titled
My Dublin Bay. The bright lights of the Big West End shows in London beckoned when
Louise auditioned for the hit musical Mamma Mia and got the part of Ali. She went on to
spend 10 years forging a hugely successful career as a West End leading lady in musicals
such as White Christmas, Ragtime, We will Rock you, Mary Poppins and the highly acclaimed
Singin’ in the Rain.
